This weekend I learned a valuable lesson…having four cats, two of which don’t officially belong, in a one bedroom apartment definitely is not ideal. My boyfriend had a couple of friends staying with him and since one of his cats likes to jet out the door the second it’s open, he decided he didn’t want to leave his cats at his house when he wasn’t there. This decision was made at 10:00 on Saturday night. After we decided they would come to my house, we realized there was only one cat carrier in his house, so the more scaredy-cat cat got to ride in the carrier and his other cat got to ride in style on my lap. She was really good, at least until we got to my house, and spent the ride looking out the window. Cheddar, the cat in the carrier wasn’t quite as calm, and he meowed and yowled for the entire five minute drive. When we got to my house, we switched cats, with my boyfriend taking Cisco, the lose one, and me taking Cheddar. We made in into my apartment successfully and went straight to my room to avoid my two cats. Rosie, my friendlier, more curious cat, spent the majority of the night sticking her foot under my bedroom door and crying loudly because she usually sleeps in my room with me. Cisco, my boyfriend’s friendlier cat seemed to get a kick out of this and spent a lot of time sitting there just watching Rosie’s foot. Cheddar spent the night under the bed. All in all, it honestly wasn’t too bad of a sleepover with the cats, but it definitely wasn’t ideal. Our cats are going to have to suck it up though and get used to each other because in less than a month they’ll be living together for real. That will be the REAL unideal situation for awhile!
