Video game heaven…get 'em while they're hot!

Monday, April 27th, 2009

If you recognize this atari t shirt, then you are a video game junkie, like me. I learned to play my first video game on one of these controllers…talk about retro. We’ve come a long way since then, with Wii, Playstation, Xbox. But the one thing I don’t like from modern day games is the price, especially in this ecomomy. Who can afford $60 games? Please!

Well, I have a temporary fix for this problem-I just got wind of a sale Best Buy is having, and I think they’ve lost their minds. They’re having a huge video game clearance, and all games are knocked down to $9.99. That’s right, even the sixty dollar ones, can you believe it? Hallelujah,  I can finally pick up my own copy of Red Alert 3, Guitar Hero 3 and Devil May Cry 4. And this way, I won’t have to keep swiping it from my best friend’s house ‘accidentally’…that is, until he comes over and finds it in my Playstaytion! LOL!

My suggestion is to get there a.s.a.p.-who knows how long it will be before Best Buy regains their sanity?

Hey, remember making tents and sofa cushion forts?

Ahhh...the good ol' days!

Ahhh...the good ol days!

As a kid, nothing beat my homemade tents and sofa cusion forts! Remember playing with the neighborhood kids on raining days and pulling everything you needed from the rest of the house? Sheets, blankets, lamps for lighting the inside…raiding every room, looking for the perfect new addition to your fortress?

Those were the days! I’d found that dining room chairs made great structures to hang the sheets, blankets and such. And we’d never forget the snacks and toys for the inside. That was, ofcourse, until MOM happened to take a moment from housecleaning or cooking to realize what we’d done to the living room. Then the fun was done…and clean up was always the worst! But it was good while it lasted, right?

Why is it when we grow up, we never do forts and tents anymore? Maybe when we have our own kids, we can try to remember how much fun it was and actually join them!
