I know we’re Crazy DOG Tshirts, not Crazy Cat Tshirts, despite any rumors you may have heard on April Fool’s Day, but I just couldn’t help sharing this video. This cool cat is basically my cat Flyer’s twin, especially the parts where he runs into the wall and doesn’t even move. Now I’ve really peaked your interest, haven’t I?!

Happy Pi Day to all of you out there! Even if you aren’t a fan of math, which I must say I am not, it’s still a great day to celebrate because you can think of it as PIE Day and that means you have to eat pie! Or a piece of pizza from a pizza pie! Anyway, here is a cool article from time.com talking about some of the ways that Pi Day is celebrated. May I suggest reading it while indulging in some pie?
Happy Pi Day! Here’s Some of the Wackiest Celebrations around the World
By Olivia B. Waxman
March 14 (3/14) is Pi Day, a celebration of the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter — one of the most beautiful and confounding numbers in mathematics. It’s technically written as 3.14159, or 3.14 for short, but Pi is an “irrational and transcendental number” whose decimals “continue infinitely without repetition or pattern,” according to PiDay.org, the holiday’s official website. But just like the hordes of young people who flocked to get married on 12/12/12, we can’t resist the opportunity to celebrate a fortuitous coincidence on our calendars. Here’s our favorite quirky celebrations for Pi Day 2013.

- In the past, MIT has posted its acceptance letters to high school seniors on Pi Day.
- Attention, Chicago residents: First Slice Pie Café will be giving out free slices of pizza today at 3:14 pm. For readers in the Southeast, pizzas cost $3.14 at Your Pie‘s 16 locations across Georgia, Tennessee and Florida.
- The Microsoft store is offering 3.14% off on Dell tablets.
- At Mission High School in California’s Bay Area, students are composing “piems” — poems that have “the same number of letters as the corresponding digit of pi.”
- Pi Day is also, amazingly, Albert Einstein’s birthday. At the San Francisco Exploratorium, math lovers can parade around a “Pi Shrine” 3.14 times while singing “Happy Birthday” to the German physicist, KQED reports. Retired physicist Larry Shaw leads a “Pi Procession”, in which “Pi partiers will get a yardstick mounted to a pie plate, each with a single digit of pi on it. Then all 500 of them will line up in pi-order” and trot around the “Pi Shrine.”
Did you watch the Oscars on Sunday night? I didn’t watch all of them but I did see a few bits and pieces. I thought Seth MacFarlane did a pretty good job presenting but in general he’s a pretty funny dude so I feel like hosting an awards show had to be pretty easy for him. Afterall, he had to come up with everything in “Family Guy” and for this show he just had to read/memorize lines. I also have to say I’m glad Anne Hathaway won an award. Again, I didn’t see the whole show but I really liked her acceptance speech and she seemed legitimately amazed and happy to be receiving the award. I also really liked her haircut…I wish I could pull-off hair that short! That being said, below is a video of her acceptance speech. What was your favorite acceptance speech?
I’m not sure if you knew this or not, but St. Patrick’s Day is less than a month away! Yep, it’s just about time to start panicking if you haven’t gotten your proper going out attire yet. No worries though, we’ve got you covered if you still need a tee. Check out this special section on our site dedicated solely to St. Patrick’s Day shirts! Heck, some of them are so good you could probably wear them to the bars anytime of the year. Last year St. Patrick’s Day was sunny and warm here and I’m keeping my fingers crossed we have a repeat of it again this year. It’s not nearly as much fun to push your way through thousands of people to try to see the parade and to get into bars when it’s snowing and freezing out as well. Plus, then you have to wear a jacket and nobody can see your awesome Crazy Dog shirt! Oh and one more thing…if you enter LUCKYCHARM at checkout, you’ll save $5.00 off of your St. Patty’s Day tee. What are you still doing here reading this…go buy your tee!
This past Friday our office pulled together to bring you…the Crazy Dog Harlem Shuffle! Below is a link to our amazing video, which is obviously the best Harlem Shuffle you will ever see. Also, bonus points if you can find Waldo. Let us know what you think! We had a great time making it.
Happy Valentine’s Day to all of you out there from all of us here at Crazy Dog! I don’t know if you checked out google today, but the doodle was pretty cool. You press a button to spin the wheel, the ferris wheel to be exact, and you get a different animal combination each time. Each different animal pairing then shows a cute little story about the happy couple. It’s pretty entertaining and definitely a good way to kill a few minutes during the day…but don’t tell my boss that part. That being said, the ferris wheel plays a role in the LOVEly doodle today because it’s George Ferris‘ 154th Birthday today! I bet you can’t guess what he invented! Seriously, how did we ever learn things before the Internet? Anyway, if you haven’t checked google out today then you should. Also, please enjoy the cute pictures of puppies below from cutestpaw.com…our Valentine’s Day gift to you.
Did you hear about what happened on KRTV in Montana? Well, if you didn’t, here’s a quick idea. Zombies. Attacking. Dead bodies. Coming back to life. AKA YIKES! Apparently hackers got into KRTV’s emergency alert system and broadcast that dead bodies were coming back to life and attacking people. Needless to say, some people believed it. Remember what happened some years ago when War of the Worlds was broadcast on Halloween and people believed it? I think if one of the stations here in Rochester was broadcasting that zombies were attacking, I would find it hard to believe, but I would probably go and check my doors just to make sure they were locked. That being said, click here for the article from Government Technology where I first heard about the “zombie attack”. Enjoy!
I’m not sure how the weather is for all of you, our avid fans, but today in Rochester it’s 60 degrees. I love love love spring weather, but I absolutely hate when it is super nice out in January and it’s on a weekday when I have to be at work and can’t enjoy it. I checked the weather and of course tomorrow it’s supposed to be a lot colder and come this weekend, it’s supposed to be snowing. Seriously mother nature, it’s not fair to all of us Monday-Friday 9 to 5 workers to have such a nice day during the week and such crappy days on the weekends. I guess I can only hope that this St. Patrick’s Day mother nature will decide to be nice and give us warm pleasant weather instead of gross freezing snow weather. I know it is winter and I do live in Upstate New York, but I don’t have to like the weather! Unlike Pete in our office, the below video does NOT portray how I feel this January.
My boyfriend and I went to the drive-in this past weekend where we saw “The Possession” and “The Expendables 2″. The drive-in is pretty awesome…it’s about 20 minutes from our house and it’s only $8.00 a person for a double feature. We usually bring a little cooler with snacks and a couple beers and it’s a pretty enjoyable time, especially when it’s not wicked hot or wicked cold out. Anyway, I have a very big love/hate relationship with scary movies…I love the idea of them and always want to see them, but usually end up spending most of the movie peeking through my fingers. Anyway, I was very proud of myself because I managed to watch most of “The Possession” sans covering my eyes. The movie definitely had some creepy parts in it, but the drive-in showed a preview for the movie right before it started, so I have to say that most of the scary parts were in the preview. One part that was pretty creepy was that the movie took place in New York, although it never specified exactly where, the cars just all had New York license plates and I know it wasn’t the city because it was too rural.
I just had to post this video because this basically is my cat Rosie in the morning if she doesn’t have food. She likes to jump up on my dresser and play with everything that she shouldn’t. Enjoy…and as you do, feel bad for me that Rosie does this!
