In honor of the approaching Halloween…

Thursday, September 20th, 2012

My boyfriend and I went to the drive-in this past weekend where we saw “The Possession” and “The Expendables 2″.   The drive-in is pretty awesome…it’s about 20 minutes from our house and it’s only $8.00 a person for a double feature.  We usually bring a little cooler with snacks and a couple beers and it’s a pretty enjoyable time, especially when it’s not wicked hot or wicked cold out.  Anyway, I have a very big love/hate relationship with scary movies…I love the idea of them and always want to see them, but usually end up spending most of the movie peeking through my fingers.  Anyway, I was very proud of myself because I managed to watch most of “The Possession” sans covering my eyes.  The movie definitely had some creepy parts in it, but the drive-in showed a preview for the movie right before it started, so I have to say that most of the scary parts were in the preview.  One part that was pretty creepy was that the movie took place in New York, although it never specified exactly where, the cars just all had New York license plates and I know it wasn’t the city because it was too rural.

Anyway, below is a preview for all of you who haven’t seen it yet.  Also, in terms of gearing up for Halloween, have you checked out all of the new costumes we have this year?

Full Body Halloween

Tuesday, November 1st, 2011

For Halloween this year I dressed up as Big Bird (yes, Crazy Dog’s very own Big Bird costume…I am very creative).  I thought I was putting a decent amount of effort into my costume when I put on yellow eye shadow and went out and bought tights to go under it.  However, my effort didn’t even come close to the effort Heidi Klum put into her costume!  Check out the picture below from US Weekly.  True, she does have people to help her plan her costume, get it together, and get it on her, but I still think this qualifies as quite an impressive costume!

The Killing dies at the end

Tuesday, October 18th, 2011

I finished watching the first season of AMC’s “The Killing” last night.  Let me just say, I am not at all a huge fan of the way the season ended.  True, it definitely left things wide open for a second season, but I honestly don’t know if I will watch it.  I really enjoyed the show up until the last episode, but I hate the way it ended.  I know that tv shows always end with a bang, no pun intended, so that the audience will want to watch the next season, but I guess “The Killing” ended with too much of a bang for me.  I do like surprises, but I also like to have some form of closure when a season ends, especially when the season is so suspenseful.  There were just too many things left unanswered at the end of this season for me.  I guess it really was smart on the part of the writers to end things this way, but it just rubbed me the wrong way.  For all of you out there who watch “The Killing,” what did you think of the ending?  And while we’re on the topic of killing, check out our awesome Halloween costumes…afterall, it is the spine-tingling season.

What’s that hiding around the corner?! Halloween!!!

Tuesday, October 4th, 2011

What are you going to be for Halloween?  I’m trying to convince my boyfriend that him and I should dress up as the beer bottle and the wine bottle from the SNL Liquorville skit featuring Justin Timberlake and Lady Gaga.  I thought I had him convinced but then he told me he doesn’t really want to wear a huge cloth beer bottle costume all night.  I guess he does have a good point there as walking around as a wine glass all night probably wouldn’t be so awesome.  Still, I think it’s a good idea.  Anyway, for your viewing pleasure, below is a clip from the Liquorville skit.  Also, if you are still in need of a Halloween costume, check out our site…we have some pretty awesome ones!

True Blood is back with a bite…we hope!

Wednesday, June 22nd, 2011

Season 4 of True Blood starts this Sunday, 6/26.  I don’t know about you, but the majority of us over here at Crazy Dog LOVE this show!  Our bosses are even hosting a True Blood party to watch the first episode of the new season, with a red food theme, which I’m sure will be a fang bangin’ good time.  The only thing I can think of that would be better is if we could actually have the party at Merlottes or Fangtasia.  I think it would be awesome to meet a vampire…specifically Eric.  Which vampire is your favorite?

Anyway, in anticipation of the start of the new season, we’ve made our Bon Temps shirt the daily deal today and we highly recommend purchasing it immediately so you can get it in time to rock it Sunday!  And for those of you who haven’t had a chance to check out the season 4 trailer, here’s a link to it.  Enjoy!   http://www.hbo.com/true-blood/about/video/season-4-trailer

Fancy Fridays Returneth!

Thursday, November 4th, 2010

I’m all about making Casual Fridays a little more interesting than just jeans and a sweatshirt.  Back in May I received at least one high-five, 3 nice emails, and 47 spit wads thrown at me for instituting a company wide policy of Fancy Fridays, where we all had to wear a Tuxedo shirt or a Princess Peach costume to work.  The policy still holds strong, and just last week Bill wore a Tuxedo shirt under a tuxedo jacket which pushed him into a crazy good-looking vortex of fancy that he didn’t get out of for about 5 hours and not without bearing great news from the year 2030 regarding my future as a bazillionaire who got rich after inventing something I don’t know about yet.

The moral of this story is that you too can be a future bazillionaire if you act fast and start wearing costumes to work on Casual Friday instead of your standard tshirt and socks with sandals (sorry to offend you Grandpa).  So do yourself a favor and grab a costume (they’re as low as $9!) and wear a nice Gnome Costume to work next Friday.  Future you will be glad you did!
